Morning walk with Nikolas...

Fall is upon us and we felt a slight coolness in the air today. We saw a birds nest with baby birds. We spoke of traveling to Colorado and going snowboarding together. Nikolas is such a bright, kind, gentle child, at times. Other times, I get a glimpse of the next stage in his boyhood as he enters adolescence. He can be ornery and morose and it pains me to know that it's at these time he needs distance. I must respect his independence. He is still a boy who likes his back tickled before bed and finds bathroom humor entertaining. Motherhood is such a blessing!!! I treasure these precarious moments, as they are fleeting.
